Dann I leaves lasting impression

Dann I

Despite the glut of up- and-coming acts who paraded their musical wares on the stage of the just-concluded Rebel Salute festival, singer Dann I stood out among those newcomers.

The former Que front man, who has been warming radio with his conscious and uplifting songs, including Time and Tek Life, left quite an impression on the Rebel Salute crowd.

It was his first time performing at the event, and according to Dann I, it was an experience that he will always cherish.

"Performing at Rebel Salute was a dream come true. The energy was perfect. The backing band (Unit) worked flawlessly and it was good to see the patrons reacting positively to the songs that I performed," Dann I explained in a release to the media.

Dann I executed a well- planned set which included songs such as Gideon Blues, a cover of Garnet Silk's Fill Us Up With Your Mercy, Tek Life, Time Nuh Wait and Dready. He was called back for an encore by MC DJ Amber, and he delivered Blaze Inna Rome.

The energy and response from the audience kept Dann I on a musical high.

"When I entered the stage, most of who were sitting, stood up and that alone was a warm welcome to me. The audience was into every line, rhyme and melody, they had the lighters in the sky, nonstop blowing of horns and moving to every song selection. The crowd gave me a level of confidence I never knew existed in me," he noted.

Dann I would like to thank the fans who have been supporting him, his management team which includes Sonny Spoon, Prof, Orville and Geenie Blaxx, and Rebel Salute promotions team Tony Rebel and Ryan Bailey.
