Accused car thieves granted bail
Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

Four men accused in the theft of a motor car were granted bail in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's Court in Clarendon yesterday.

They are Clayton 'Dutty Shut' Blake, Dane Watson, Oneik Williams and Delano James, all of Old Harbour, St Catherine.

When the matter was mentioned before Resident Magistrate Stephany Orr, attorney-at-law Shantez Rahji Stewart made a successful bail application on Blake's behalf.

Bail was subsequently granted on condition that they return to court on March 6, when the matter will again be mentioned.

Allegations are that earlier this month, the police in Old Harbour saw a Mitsubishi car being drawn by a Toyota vehicle. When it was stopped, the four accused were seen inside. Checks later revealed that both vehicles were stolen - the Toyota in St Catherine and the Mitsubishi in Clarendon.

The men were subsequently charged with larceny of motor vehicles.
