'Romain Virgo and Friends' a success

Reggae star Romain Virgo delivered a sparkling set at the Klub Kokonutz venue in Reading, St James recently as the event dubbed 'Romain Virgo and Friends' was a huge success.

Hundreds of patrons jammed to the smooth grooves of Olympic Music and Roderick Howell of HITZ FM, but after a few hours, the steady rumblings of "we want Romain" began to vibrate through the large crowd. Radio personality Izahbing, who was at the controls, quickly assured the crowd that Virgo was in the venue, and mischievously played a snippet from the artiste's big hit, Cyah Sleep, a gambit that merely fired up the crowd.

The performance segment kicked off not long afterwards with upcoming artists such as Chrysalis and Loyal Flames who worked a tight set with hits such as Mr Death. The supremely talented Shuga used her strong vocal stylings and beautiful blonde sister locks to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Then it was time for the man of the moment, and he needed no formal introduction as the crowd erupted at the first sight of his entrance onstage. Clad in a royal blue and red suit that displayed a 'dressed to kill' fashion statement, he immediately had the crowd at his mercy with the sweet vocals of Cyah Sleep, and the crowd rose as one body to applaud and welcome the brilliant young act.

Fans screamed with delight, and the constant flashes of light from phones, cameras and video recorders punctuated his performance.

Virgo gave nothing short of a spectacular performance delivering his hits such as Wanna Go Home and Live Mi Life. He also wowed the crowd with a stellar medley of Beres Hammond's greatest hits such as Rockaway, Feel Good and She Loves Me Now to name a few.

The next event will be on March 1, 2014, and Montego Bay is already bracing for it.
