Cops probing suspected case of drowning

Police have confirmed that they are investigating a suspected case of drowning in Trelawny. Twenty-eight-year-old Eric Thompson, a security officer of Clarks Town in the parish, is suspected to have drowned at the Duncans Bay Beach, also in the parish, yesterday.

According to reports from the Duncans police, about 10 a.m., Thompson and a group of people went to the beach. The police said while swimming, Thompson got into difficulties and subsequently drowned.

The police were summoned and on their arrival, his body was seen lying on a section of the beach.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue. Investigations continue.
