Woman who exchanged fake cheques for goods charged

A woman charged with two counts of fraud was further remanded Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with uttering forged documents and obtaining goods by false pretence is 54-year-old Marcia Williams.

She pleaded guilty and told the court that it was her first brush with the law.

The court was told that Williams entered an establishment and tendered two Scotiabank cheques valued at $47,000 in exchange for goods.

Williams is to return to court tomorrow.
