The Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), at the University of the West Indies, Mona, is preparing to introduce a bachelor of fine arts (BFA) degree in animation and motion graphics.

This programme will run concurrently with the existing certificate in animation programme which has received rave reviews from both students and administrators.

CARIMAC intends to provide a two-tier system in which the certificate programme will serve as a feeder into the degree programme.

Professor Hopeton Dunn, director of CARIMAC, says that this programme is one of a slew of curriculums to come on stream shortly.

After graduating its first cohort of students this February, CARIMAC will start a renewed certificate in animation programme to start in late March. Matriculation dates for the new BFA in animation and motion graphics programme will be announced shortly.
