Man remanded for stoning babymother

A man charged with using a stone to hit the mother of his kids, breaking three of her ribs in the process, was moved to tears Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Luchen Anderson.

When the matter was called up, he pleaded guilty after much reluctance, adding that she first spit in his face and has cost him everything he has.

The court heard that the complainant was on her, way home from a wake when Anderson stoned her causing serious injuries.

He told the court, "Your honour, from mi go for my out-a-port daughter inna March a bare problem. She caused it to enuh, she spit inna mi face in front her family and everybody"

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told Anderson that he had no excuse for his actions.

He was remanded in custody to think about his behaviour, until Wednesday, when the matter will again be mentioned for preliminary enquiry and the medical certificate to be presented.

A fingerprint order was also made.
