Macka Diamond's 'Wicked Heart' video was the subject of much scrutiny last month.

The video received tremendous backlash from many Jamaicans after pictures of Macka Diamond showed herself hanging from a cross.

Many persons were upset, stating the artiste had gone too far as the cross religiously symbolised the death of Christ, and claimed Macka Diamond was unworthy of such an honour.

However, even amid the controversy, the official video for the song is set to premiere this week.

When contacted, head of Macka Diamond's management team, Lisa Larmond, said that she expects the talks to continue.

"Even though we hope people would understand that this is just a means of expression and that it is nothing but art, we expect people to continue reacting to it negatively," she said.

She also expressed her desire for Jamaicans to become more educated as crucifying persons was a common way of getting rid of alleged criminals/wrongdoers and was not reserved for Christ Himself.

Larmond was also quick to reassure that the song was not intended for anyone specific, as many persons are of the belief that the song was aimed at fellow artiste Lady Saw.

"The song speaks to reality in Jamaica, people are always 'crucifying' others with their words as well as their actions, and the song was just a visual expression of that," she said.

Larmond says that Macka Diamond is in a good space right now, and is looking forward to bigger things in 2014, pointing to talks about her (Macka Diamond) possibly working on a new book following the success of Bun Him and Bun Him pt 2. However, the music is the main focus for now.

"She is a fighter, very hard-working and determined; she is just focused on her music right now, and is excited about the future," said Larmond.

Macka Diamond was in Tortula over the weekend where she performed with fellow artiste Tommy Lee Sparta. She is also slated to perform in Uganda later this month and has a scheduled UK tour this year.
