Police campaign launched to monitor children after school hours

A campaign aimed at preventing children from loitering on the streets after school hours was launched at the Kingston Western Police divisional headquarters.

On Monday during the launch, Senior Superintendent Steve McGregor who heads the division, said he hopes the initiative will also prevent youngsters from engaging in criminal activities.

SSP McGregor said the programme will involve monitors from West Kingston communities who will interact with the youngsters and their parents.

He also said that the programme will operate on a three-strike basis, with arrests being the last resort.
