Don't send my man to prison - Woman begs for spouse after getting him arrested
Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

A St Catherine man charged with assault with intent to rape walked free from the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court after the complainant begged for him.

He is Joshua Plummer, a 40-year-old labourer of Ellerslie Pen.

When the matter came up, the complainant, who has a child for Plummer, said she wanted to discontinue the matter. She wrote a letter to the court saying that the accused is a great provider for his child.

"Sir, you are given a chance by the complainant. Sir, if you were convicted you would have been sent to prison," Smith said. He was then told that he was free to go.

The court heard that the accused held down the complainant in December and attempted to rape her.

The matter was reported to the police and Plummer was charged. Plummer was represented by attorney-at-law Lancelot Clarke Jr.
