'Caymanas Live' to feature hot artiste each month

Busy Signal

Caymanas Park will have one of the country's hottest dancehall or reggae acts on stage at the race track every month in what it has dubbed 'Caymanas Live', an entertainment package sponsored by McKay Security Limited.

The series started with Busy Signal and new artiste Yola Moi bringing down the house as featured acts on McKay Security Raceday on New Year's Day.

The response by patrons was so overwhelming that Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) and McKay Security have partnered to keep the vibes going.

"A McKay Security and CTL panel will select an Artiste of the Month from the top three male and female deejay and singing acts, and bring that person to the track," said the security firm's CEO, Jason McKay.

The artistes, resident in Jamaica, will be selected based on the buzz being created on the local music scene.

"We started with Busy Signal and it will continue for the rest of the year, culminating in November with a grand package. The featured artiste will only be announced a week or two before the Caymanas Live raceday, so it depends on who is hot on the music scene," McKay added.

David Hobson, executive marketing manager, CTL, was ecstatic with the concept of having the best artistes on the Jamaican entertainment scene at Caymanas Live.

"It's going to enhance the entertainment on racedays and attract a wide cross section of persons to the track, not only for the entertainment but to see horse racing in all its glory," Hobson pointed out.
