Avatar signs up with Turbo Max sound system!


Popular dancehall selector, Avatar, has signed a long-term management contract with St Ann-based sound system, Turbo Max.

The colourful character, real name Morton Gecomma Gammon, said he is happy to have signed with the established sound system, which is owned by prominent businessman, producer and promoter known to most as Father Solomon.

The 34-year-old Westmoreland native, will now lead the sound with fellow members Fire Agent and Yunzie, who was integral in the making of Black Kat sound system.

"Turbo Max and Avatar is the biggest alliance in dancehall sound system globally, right now," said an animated Avatar, who came to prominence in 2011 after his exploits on the much-followed 'Guinness Sounds of Greatness' competition. "We coming with everything weh dancehall short of right now. So, people, unuh fi expect a bag of things."

The tough-talking selector said he will still consider offers as a special guest selector. "If me have time and is the right people, I will still take on special guests offers, but right now my sole focus is with Turbo Max," he said.

And being the controversial figure he is, Avatar used the opportunity to send a stern warning to his rivals.

"Me first target a mi neighbour dem, Bass Odyssey. After mi mash up dat a di one Trooper, who love chat, mi ago tun ova. Then mi go fi di one Panta and Fire Links and dat a before mi start tink bout di foreign man dem, like Mighty Crown," he said.
