She describes herself as fun, vibrant and down to earth. But singer Tracy Mowet is a talent waiting to explode.

"I bring a little bit of everything to the musical table. I'm a little bit of an all-rounder, whether it is dancehall, rhythm and blues, or one-drop music. Whatever the mood throws at me," said Mowet.

Mowet, who is from Spanish Town, St Catherine, is enjoying some attention with the single, I Want Your Touch, which is featured on the 'Beach House' rhythm from Jamlink Recording. The song has been getting some rotation on the local airwaves.

Mowet has come a long way since her recording debut a few years ago with the Jah Mafia label (now known as Supa Star Records). The New York-based label was among a few which she worked with prior to her tenure with Jamlink. She also worked with Dream Sounds Records, another US-based entity.

early age

Growing up in Spanish Town, Mowet whose real name is Tracy-Ann Moore, knew at an early age that she wanted to sing. Singing on the church choir and performing in school concerts helped to hone her talent.

After relocating to the US, Mowet continued to pursue her musical interests. She would perform at varying locations in the American nightclub scene, even as far as Canada. She has collaborated with Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Harry Toddler and Sizzla Kalonji.

Among her other releases are Gangsta Love (Flava Squad label), Ghetto Fabulous (Free Willy label) and So What (GJay Productions).
