There are no new faces in Jamaica's 13-man squad for their opening round West Indies Cricket Board four-day tournament clash against Guyana at Sabina Park.

There is, however, one newcomer for Jamaica's second match away to Leeward Islands starting on March 7 at Warner Park in Dominica. He is Melbourne's leg-spin all-rounder, Damion Jacobs.

Jacobs and Nikita Miller are set to join the team after the departure of André Russell and Sheldon Cottrell for the West Indies squad ahead of next month's ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

Miller is set to miss the Guyana tie as he is on duty with the West Indies team in Antigua.

"The team did not perform as well as we would have liked in the Super50, especially in the semi-finals," said Wavell Hinds, chairman of selectors, during a press conference to announce the team yesterday.

"However, after looking at all factors, as well as other players that are available to us, we believe that at this time this squad represents the best we have," Hinds said.

The Guyana game, which is set to bowl off on Friday, sees the return of middle-order batsman Tamar Lambert as captain and all-rounder David Bernard Jr, his deputy.

Jamaica four-day squad (vs Guyana): Tamar Lambert (captain), David Bernard Jr, Carlton Baugh Jr, Jerome Taylor, Nkrumah Bonner, André Russell, Sheldon Cottrell, André McCarthy, Jermaine Blackwood, John Campbell, Horace Miller, Jamie Merchant and Andrew Richardson.
