After calling it quits on his annual 'Follow The Arrow' event, promoter Dexton Ennis has now changed the name and the concept of the show to Follow Ur Sound.

Sponsored by Magnum Tonic Wine, the series is set to ignite the social scene and will see four sound systems vying for the Follow Ur Sound Championship Belt and $250,000 in cash.

Already he is promising a clean sound clash with no profanity or discriminatory lyrics.

"People have been asking us to do an event since we decided to discontinue our annual stage show, Follow Di Arrow, and this concept is the right fit. It's original dancehall style with a modern direction," Ennis said.

The first staging of the Magnum Follow Ur Sound series will take place on April 27 at Sugarman's Beach, Hellshire, St Catherine, and will feature Flava Unit, Silver Hawk, Bodyguard and Sound Trooper going head to head for the top spot.

The event will be hosted by the 'Energy God', Elephant Man. It will also see Nitty Kutchie and Tony Curtis facing off in a 45 shoot-out.

join forces

Sophia Bernard-Fairman, group brand manager for fortified wines and liqueurs at J Wray & Nephew Limited, noted, "Magnum Tonic Wine has had a long-standing relationship with Decky Promotions through its past sponsorship of Follow Di Arrow. We were, therefore, happy to be able to join forces with the group for its new series," Bernard-Fairman said.

The selector who wins on April 27 can look forward to facing other local and international sounds later in the series to defend the title.

Patrons can also nominate their region's hottest sound systems to be part of the series.

"Magnum Follow Ur Sound is the next phase for Decky Promotions and we intend to execute this series with the same professionalism that the industry has respected over the last 13 years," Ennis reiterated.

Not only will the event be extremely entertaining, but it will also seek to continue the charity elements of Follow Di Arrow. Part proceeds of Magnum Follow Ur Sound will be donated to the St Mary Infirmary.

'Follow Ur Sound' will launch on March 22 at Magnum Container Satdazs at Gee Wee Car Park, across from Up Park Camp in Kingston.
