A psychiatric evaluation ordered for accused thief

A psychiatric evaluation has been ordered for a man who has been accused of stealing 400 pounds of ground produce when the matter was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

He is Everton Bryan, who has been charged with simple larceny and receiving stolen property.

Bryan returns to court on April 24.

Allegations are that on the day of the incident, Bryan stole 100 pounds of irish potatoes, and 300 pounds of pumpkin from a woman.

When presiding judge, Resident Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece, asked the accused if he was guilty or not guilty, Bryan responded, "So she say."

The accused man's mother who was present at court said that her son has a mental problem.

The female complainant was told to return to court on the next mentioned date to hear the outcome of the psychiatric evaluation.
