I-Octane delivers at 'Caymanas Live'

Dancehall/reggae act I-Octane had female patrons swooning and male fans shooting imaginary blanks at Caymanas Park, St Catherine on Wednesday, as 'Caymanas Live' got off to a rollicking start at the park.

I-Octane, one of Jamaica's most sought-after artistes, whetted the audience's appetite before the running of the seventh event before returning to deliver his catalogue of hits after the day's last race.

Joined on stage by a willing female, I-Octane serenaded her with Love You Like I Do, while most in the audience captured the artiste's act on their cellphones.

During a break from his first set, the artiste said it was his first time at the races and he thoroughly enjoyed the environment and crowd response.

"I had only seen the races on TV but it is great energy. The people are doing their thing and enjoying it. It's gambling but everybody still seems to be happy, even if they lose. They just move on to the next race," he noted.

Patrons, he said, were complementing him on his performance. "I walked through the crowd and the feedback from random people was great," he said, adding that 2014 has been a continuation of 2013, which he described as "my best year in terms of accomplishments".

"I closed Sumfest last year and won numerous awards, plus picked up two big endorsement deals, now I am chosen as one of the acts on Caymanas Live," he pointed out.
