Mom, daughter raped

A woman and her daughter were reportedly gang raped by thugs in a Portmore, St Catherine, community recently, The Star understands.

It is reported that the two were on their way to work, when they were forced in an abandoned building by the armed men. The incident reportedly occurred over a week ago, sometime after 5 a.m.

It is reported that the women were also robbed.

Information surrounding the incident is sketchy, and the St Catherine South police say that due to the nature of the case, they were unable to shed further light on the matter.

Meanwhile, The Star understands that the incident has left persons in the community outraged and in shock.

Several persons who say they were aware of the incident, added that the building where the incident is alleged to have taken place, is an abandoned house that has been harbouring idlers.
