Three suspects arrested in Dyke Road double murder

The St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force has arrested three suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of two St Catherine men.

It is revealed that the suspects were held during a raid in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine, on Sunday, when police personnel from the St Catherine South Division spotted a Honda Prelude motor car suspected to have been driven by those allegedly involved in the killing.

Investigators said that the names of the three men have been withheld pending further investigations.

Those killed have been identified as Livingston Garvey, 62-year-old building contractor, and 23-year-old construction worker Mario Cross, both of Cherry district near Kitson Town in St Catherine. On Friday about 5:30 p.m., Garvey and Cross were shot and killed along the Dyke Road in St Catherine after returning from Portmore where they went to collect money.

It is said Garvey was taken from his vehicle by persons travelling in a dark coloured car and shot.

Cross who attempted to flee was chased and shot.

They both died on the spot from gunshot wounds received.

Meanwhile, the police have established robbery as the motive in the attack.
