From lovers rock crooner to dancehall vixen

If her latest single, 'B'Rida', is anything to go by, Nordia Witter has made the transition from lovers rock sweetheart to high-energy dancehall vixen.

In keeping with the new image, the entertainer will no longer go by the name Nordia Witter, but will instead use the moniker, KoKo. Witter says the change was necessary as she is now aiming at a different audience.

"KoKo is a bit more hip and definitely more appealing to the younger generation, and that's where I'm focusing on right now," she said.

KoKo says the song has been receiving great rotation across the region. She describes her new music as high-energy dance music and says her new dancehall/soca single on the Green Light rhythm recorded earlier this year is testament to that.

With the video shoot now concluded, the release is expected to happen before the week ends. "Substance Muzik worked on me with this. We just wrapped up the shoot about two weeks ago, and fans will see the sexier side of me," she said.

KoKo says her video and song will serve as the ultimate girls' anthem and will get the female audience dancing again. "I don't want to give a way too much because I like to surprise my fans, but the song is called B'Rida, so it has to be sexy and the ladies will be representing."

She pointed out that her manager, Cecile Collins, was instrumental in helping the plans further along and says she just wants to give the fans what they want.
