Police seize firearm on Waterhouse Drive

The police say a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized by the Hunts Bay police on Waterhouse Drive, in the vicinity of Washington Boulevard, St Andrew, on Tuesday.

Reports are that at 12:15 a.m., lawmen were on patrol in the area, when two men were seen acting suspiciously. They were accosted and searched and one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds seized.

One of the men, whose identity is being withheld at this time, remains in police custody, while the other has since been questioned and released.

The police say this brings to three the number of firearms seized in this division by the police since Monday.

The cops are also appealing to suspects with firearms to surrender peacefully when apprehended, as this will reduce the chance of anyone being injured.
