Kashu gets good response from Guyanese fans
Horace Fisher, Star Writer

Fresh from his ground-breaking tour of Guyana, Moby's recording artiste and actor, Kashu, is still revelling in the overwhelming responses he got from the hundreds of Guyanese fans who turned out for his sophomore performance in Berbice.

The Clarendon-based artiste, who plays Kango in the movie Out The Gate, said the Guyanese experience has left him "shell-shocked" and he is already formalising contractual arrangements for a summer dancehall invasion of the South American country.

"The response I got in Guyana was overwhelming; the fans gave me crazy love. They know all of my songs words-for-words," Kashu said in an interview at Moby's, Fernleigh Avenue, Clarendon.

"I am definitely going back there in the summer. Plans are already in place." Kashu went to Guyana on a Ruff Cut-produced 'Yard and Broad Link Up' stage show with fellow Clarendon entertainer, Silver Cat. While there he facilitated a number of radio interviews and interacted with his growing fan base in the high schools.

"I did a couple of radio interviews, been to a few Guyanese high schools and I also went in the street to meet and greet the fans. I was literally mobbed," he said.

He listed Tongue Ring, Nuh Beaty Beaty and Tatoach as three of his hottest songs doing well locally and internationally, getting good rotation from the radio stations. The singles will form the bedrock of his yet to be named five-track EP, to be released this summer. A video for Tongue Ring will be shot soon.
