JNBS members rewarded for using e-banking services

Three members of the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) were rewarded for using the company's e-banking services during its recent December 2013 promotion.

Jennifer Dailey, Keleisha Milton and Kirk Steele each received a Google Nexus tablet for their use of one of the three e-banking facilities offered by the organisation: automated teller machine (ATM), LIVE by JN Online Banking and LIVE by JN Text Banking service, respectively. The presentation took place at the JNBS Half-Way Tree branch in Kingston, recently.

Milton, who won for her use of the LIVE by JN Online Banking facility, said the system complements her lifestyle perfectly. "I do everything on LIVE by JN and it has everything I need to do my bill payments and transfers, at my own convenience," she explained.

Ricardo Dystant, e-banking manager for JNBS, says members are adopting the e-banking channels to fit their lifestyles, save time and make less in-branch visits.

"Monthly, we are seeing an increase in the volume of transactions through LIVE by JN and our ATMs across the island," he said. "It helps that when members use JN ATM machines they are not charged for their transactions."

The LIVE by JN Text Banking service, which was launched in March 2013, has also been gaining traction among JN members who are able to use the service to check their account balances, by simply sending an SMS text message.

Dystant said the service has "expanded fourfold since its launch and we are seeing consistent growth with new members singing up each month."
