Contractor Music Marketing will sponsor Irie FM's live broadcast of the 2014 ISSA Boys and Girls' Champs, which began yesterday and ends on Saturday.

The popular athletic championship has become an annual craze for many Jamaicans both locally and internationally in its one hundred-plus years of existence.

The Boys and Girls' Champs will take place at the National Stadium. 'Champs' is the largest high school sporting event in the world. It has produced Jamaican track and field legends such as Herb McKenley, Merlene Ottey, and the world-famous reigning Olympic and World champion, Usain Bolt.

During their live coverage of the five-day spectacle, both Irie FM and Contractor Music Marketing will use Nature's No Guns Around as the theme song. The reggae artiste has been on a steady rise since his breakthrough in music two years ago.

The single, released last year, has become a consistent item on most disk jockeys' playlist as well as generating an enormous amount of street credit.

Contractor Music Marketing is owned and operated by PR guru Sean 'Contractor' Edwards, who also happens to be an active reggae recording artiste.

And with sports and entertainment currently two of the world's most interesting industries, the St Ann-based marketing specialist believes partnering with the nation's leading radio station is like the perfect marriage.

"For years, the ISSA Boys and Girls' Championships hasbeen a staple for Jamaicans living here and in the diaspora. The level of quality and excitement is second to none, making it the biggest high school sporting event worldwide.

"With this notion, I believe it would be the perfect marriage in partnering with Irie to help broadcast the talents and expected excitement coming from inside the National Stadium," he said.
