Nature thrills audience performing 'Retarded'


Nature's impressive rise into mainstream reggae music has continued after a splendid interview and performance on CVM TV's popular entertainment programme, The Hit List.

The much-liked reggae crooner, real name André Ellis, surprised many when he appeared onset with a jelly coconut and offered it to the programme's host, Charm.

The No Guns Around singer then explained that he was acting in light of his moniker and to make life a wholesome experience. His antic, however, didn't take any gloss of his performance, which included the aforementioned song and the premiere of his song and music video titled Retarded.

The song, which speaks about love, was produced by Downsound Records (DSR), to which he is signed. The video, released last week, was directed by the label's CEO, Joseph Bogdanovich, who uses the alter ego Mr B.

Nature, through a release to the media, said he was delighted with the opportunity given to him by the station and was very encouraged by the reception he got.

"Everything that I do, I try to make it as creative and entertaining as possible. The audience was great and I appreciate the support they showed. I have to also say thanks to Hit List for allowing me to be myself," Nature said.

Nature's career has developed significantly since he joined the Kingston-based label, DSR. From a fledging artiste a few years ago, the singer has become a household name, to date making impressive performances on major stage shows such as Reggae Sumfest, Sting, and the St Ann Kite Festival.
