Italian reggae artiste seeks Jamaican flavour

Fido Guido

Italian recording artiste and producer Fido Guido is aiming to release his new reggae album, in his native language, and is working with Jamaican producers to give the project authentic sound.

The artiste is working with Judgement Yard's Protégé, G-Mac, Chiney K production and German based Dee Buzz.

Fido Guido and G-Mac are promoting a collaboration, This Girl Is Mine, produced by Bizzarri Records, from Italy.

A music video was released for the song and is getting favourable rotation on local TV.

"We are promoting the video on local TV programmes. We recently premiered it on the Hit List show and it is being well supported by people here in Jamaica and Europe, especially Italy," he said.

Fido Guido said working in Jamaica is a major learning experience.

"It's good because I am learning a lot more about the culture here and I realise the culture is almost the same as my people in Taranto, Italy. So this reggae has helped me to express myself about my every-day life and the situation here in Taranto that people face with the struggle of everyday life," he said.

G-Mac was just as upbeat about the project and said he will be heading to Europe to embark on a tour.

Fido Guido's album is One World, One Love, One Struggle. He is also looking to work with reggae producer John John.
