Man accused of stealing jewellery, laptop remanded

A man who allegedly stole a number of items from a female complainant's house was remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with housebreaking and larceny and receiving stolen property is Dwayne Donaldson.

The court heard that, on the day of the incident, Donaldson is alleged to have broken into the complainant's house and removed a number of expensive jewelleries and a laptop, totalling $US5,000 ($545,000).

It was also revealed in court that Donaldson was spotted close to the Hunts Bay Police Station with a bag which, when searched, contained a number of the items alleged to have been stolen. His girlfriend had also gone to the same police station to report that he had bought the items from an unknown individual.

Donaldson was subsequently remanded until April 8.
