A man accused of breaking into a home and making off with items was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

He is 18-year-old Silburn Etion, charged with house breaking and larceny.

The Crown alleged that Etion entered the complainant's home, stealing money, a tablet computer, a laptop, a wrist watch, a digital camera, memory cards, a pair of slippers, t-shirts, and cellular phones.

The court heard the accused man's mother, who produced a document suggesting that her son was of unsound mind and was undergoing treatment at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

"Sometime him gwan like him gone crazy," the mother said.

"Why yu don't stop breaking into people's place?" Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked.

"Nothing, miss," Silburn replied.

The sitting magistrate ordered Silburn remanded until April 22, pending sentencing. A psychiatric evaluation and a fingerprint order were also made.
