Alleged trickster hauled to court

A man who allegedly tricked a complainant into investing his US dollars in a scheme was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with larceny by trick is Gladstone Taylor.

The Crown is alleging that on March 8, the accused strongly encouraged the complainant to invest US$2,500 with him for two days, and during this period an interest of US$500 would accrue to the figure.

The complainant complied; however, when he tried to get the interest, the accused ran away but was eventually held by the police.

Taylor has been remanded in custody until April 14.
