Ammo, ganja seized

Several rounds of ammunition along with approximately 400 pounds of ganja were seized in St Elizabeth between Saturday and yesterday.

This was made by a team of officers from the Area Three Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division.

Information received is that last Saturday between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., lawmen conducted an operation in Goshen district, during which a hut was searched and 40 pounds of ganja and thirty .38 rounds of ammunition were found.

The operation continued in Pepper district, where a search conducted on another hut unearthed 350 pounds of ganja, and one .380 round of ammunition hidden in a barrel.

The drug has an estimated street value of J$1.95 million.

No one was arrested in relation to the seizure. Investigations continue.
