Months after he flew into Jamaica from Los Angeles to record a song with Sophia Brown, Jamaican-born entertainer Black Ice is all set to release the sexy new single they recorded together.

The single, We're Lovers, is set for wide release today (April 15) and is coming out on Black Ice's Yard Groove label in conjunction with Brown's Music Mecka label. It will be distributed by Zojak Worldwide.

Black Ice, born Gary Palmer, has high hopes for the song that he intends to shoot a video for in the coming weeks. "The song has great potential. The feedback we have been getting has been positive, people have been loving the message and the vibe," he said.

Brown was equally pleased by the final product. "The production was well done and it was mixed by Stephen Stanley," she said. "I was happy to be a part of the track and we have been getting really good responses." The tracks were recorded at Big Yard studio last October.

She revealed that there has been a lot of interest in the song from Brazil, Panama, in Europe and in the UK and those areas are being targeted. "We are not forgetting the reggae community, but we are spreading it out to Europe and those other areas where the feedback has been good," Black Ice reinforced. He said the song has been his biggest production effort to date.

The song will get the benefit of strong promotion through a music video and listening parties to be staged in nightclubs in Los Angeles where the entertainer is based. "Sophia should be here in LA, in May and we plan on putting together a video treatment for the song and we plan to have parties at a few clubs so people can get familiar with the song and its performers," Black Ice said.

They plan to start shooting the video between May 9 and 10. "Summer would be the perfect time to release the video," he said.

Meantime, Black Ice says he plans further collaborations with Brown. "I am already working on a new song with Sophia geared towards a pop and dance vibe," he said. He is also working on another song called Living in LA. "It's kind of a truthful story about living in this part of the world ... a playful song about living in LA."
