The Denbigh high school, winner of the LIME Epic Event promotion, will host its all-expense-paid fundraising event tomorrow (Saturday, April 26) at the school's campus in May Pen, Clarendon.

Courtesy of telecommunications firm, LIME, the highly anticipated prize event will feature top acts in the entertainment industry and a host of surprises for the students.

Kasan Troupe, principal of Denbigh High School, says the proceeds will go towards the purchase of a school bus to support student programmes at the school; the project she says is expected to cost approximately $7.5 million.

"We are extremely excited to receive this prize from LIME. It also comes at a time when we are working towards getting a long overdue school bus. This opportunity is very well timed and will go a long way in helping us to reach the target," Troupe said.

Special commendation is in order for the students and well-wishers of the secondary institution, who used the 'Text-to-Win' competition put on by LIME during its sponsorship of the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls' Championships to secure the most votes for Denbigh to win the all-expense-paid barbeque event.

At the end of voting, Denbigh High reigned supreme among the 150 schools eligible for the competition.

The telecommunications company will be setting the stage for the event to be the 'High School Barbeque of the Year', this according to Stephen Miller, LIME's sponsorship and events manager. "We will be providing top-class entertainment, an impressive set-up including a state-of-the-art stage, sound, and lighting," he adds.

LIME ambassadors Donald 'Ice Man' Anderson and Pretty Boy Floyd will play hosts for the evening, while popular DJs will provide musical selections.

The entertainment line-up for this all-expense paid BBQ event will also feature dancehall sensations QQ and Konshens. Admission to the epic event and to help the school to reach their target for a new bus is only $1,000 inclusive of food.
