Twin of Twins to debut Jamaica Mek Wi Laugh

Twin of Twins - File

Next Tuesday, the newly renovated Countryside Club will erupt with laughter when some of Jamaica's top comedians and musical acts take centre stage for season two of Lady Rennae's live comedy series rebranded Jamaica Mek Wi Laugh.

The newly reformatted showcase, staged the last Tuesday of every month, will see the best local talents on show delivering spine-tingling humour in a more comfortable and spacious environment. Opening the new season will be none other than the controversial yet thought-provoking duo Twins of Twins, alongside Leighton Smith, with musical performance courtesy of international reggae/dancehall star Demarco.

In a statement to the media, the affable Lady Rennae says: "The Jamaica Mek Wi Laugh is a premium brand, and so we only go for the best. Last season was great, the support was overwhelming, thanks to all the sponsors and patrons; however, come season two, we are stepping things up another tier. We have a more spacious venue, among other exciting offerings. I don't want to give away too much, but when have people ever seen Twin of Twins doing live comedy, along with Leighton Smith and Demarco together on one night on the same stage - all that for a mere $1,000. Now that is what we are talking about when we say boasy on a budget."

Why a change of venue?

"We've outgrown our previous space, hence, the move to a new facility. The Countryside Club is a more spacious environment equipped to handle larger gatherings with several secured parking lots... Its smack in the middle of Half-Way-Tree, literally seconds away from the Transport Centre, making it easy for patrons to traverse."

Show starts at 7 p.m. sharp and ends at 10 p.m.
