'Follow Ur Sound' this Sunday

Promoter Dexton Ennis

All systems are set to go for this Sunday's staging of Decky Promotions Magnum Follow Ur Sound, at Sugarman's Beach in Hellshire, St Catherine.

Sponsored by Magnum Tonic Wine, the series will see four sound systems (Flava Unit, Silver Hawk, Bodyguard and Sound Trooper) vying for the Follow Ur Sound Championship Belt and $250,000 in cash.

Promoter Dexton Ennis continues to stress, "This clash is one with a difference. This is an open-air clash and no profanity or indecent language will be allowed. All the sounds have already agreed to this and so we want the public to know that they can come out and enjoy a clean clash governed by strict rules."

According to Ennis, the clash will take the form of a series, "because next we go into MoBay, then St Elizabeth and then we return to Kingston for the finals. So, whichever sound wins in Portmore on Sunday, wins $250,00 plus a belt, and then they will go to MoBay to defend their belt, and then that winner goes on to St Elizabeth to defend it and so on until we return to Kingston for the very final showdown."

"Also, Stone Love has already indicated that once the clash is clean, they are willing to participate next year," Ennis added.

There will also be a 45 Shoot Out segment, where singers "Nittie Kutchie, Tony Curtis, and Wickaman will square off. The winner of that will receive a Samsung Galaxy S4."

The event will be hosted by Elephant Man and will run from 7 p.m. until midnight. Part proceeds in aid of the St Mary Infirmary.
