Dancehall artiste M-Gee has become the latest entertainer to fall victim to the parasitic crime epidemic plaguing the island.

The incident occurred on Easter Sunday while the artiste was at a popular beach party in Portmore, St Catherine.

According to M Gee, he had gone to the event to promote his latest single, Eva Clean. He parked his car outside the venue, and on his return, hours later, discovered the vehicle would not disarm amid attempts to use the alarm remote.

On closer inspection, it was found that thieves had entered vehicle and had stolen items. Among the valuables taken was cash in excess of $50,000, along with documents and personal effects.

M Gee stated that the thieves also attempted to remove his car battery.

A seemingly exasperated M-Gee confirmed that the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities.

"I can't understand why a man would leave his house to come to a party to rob a next man of his things that he works so hard for. We have the same 24 hours, two hands and feet, so why they can't go and work for their own too. Them must remember God nah sleep, their time soon come," the deejay warned.

Despite not being a household name, M-Gee emerged three years ago and has been steadily making a mark for himself with singles such as Prefer Cheap, Back Pocket Hail, Hypocrite, Di Gyal Dem and Di Wine.

He has performed at some of the biggest events on the dancehall calendar including Sting, Follow Di Arrow and the Penn Relays After-Party with Lady Saw, in Philadelphia, United States of America.
