Woman on wounding rap gets bail extension

A woman who told the court that she "accidentally" wounded a complainant whom she had an altercation with had her bail extended on Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with wounding is Joan Stephenson. She pleaded not guilty and offered an explanation.

Stephenson told the court, "Your Honour, a she come grab me up enuh ... I had a knife in my hand ... that's how she got cut ... a accident..."

The medical report in the matter is outstanding.

Resident Magistrate Georgiana Fraser then made a fingerprint order against Stephenson.

Her bail was extended until June 3 when she is to return to court.
