Chronixx to headline St Catherine High barbecue

Chronixx will headline the St Catherine High barbecue, which will take place on the front lawns of the school at 35 St John's Road, Spanish Town, today.

Other top acts performing in the stage show section of the barbecue, starting at 6:30 p.m., will be KipRich and Cherine Anderson.

Backed by the Zinc Fence Redemption Band, Chronixx will do a full set in a venue that he knows very well, having started his performing career while being a student at the institution, where he also showcased his talent to his peers.

Since then, he has been delivering performances to the international stage while building a catalogue that includes Behind Curtain, Odd Ras, Dread and Terrible, Who Knows, Ain't No Giving In and Smile Jamaica. These and others have kept him on playlists and on both local and international charts.

Having just returned from a successful European tour to promote his latest project, as well as a sold-out performance in Barbados, Chronixx promises another top-shelf act at his alma mater.

KipRich and Cherine Anderson will add flavour to the event, which will also feature QueCee and The VybNation Band, which is led by Querido Howell, another St upcoming Catherine High artiste. Also performing will be Gaza Kim, Nessa B, Craiggis, Jah Turban and Apache Kid and Sarge.

The actual barbecue begins at noon with food serving until 9 p.m. The ticket costs $1,200, and covers both the food and the stage show. The school is being assisted in this effort by the Alumni and Parent-Teacher Association with support from Friends of St Catherine.
