Dis Poem fourth staging lacks usual support

The fourth annual Dis Poem Word and Agro Festival didn't get its usual support, but the poets brought word, sound and power on the beach at Hope Bay, Portland on Sunday.

The charity event, produced by Ras Takura, which seeks to raise funds for the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) in the parish, saw edifying performances from world-renowned dub poet Mutabaruka, Ras Takura, DYCR, No-Maddz and Kshema Francis among others.

The members of Royal African Soldiers Ginsu, Ras Takura and Neeto Meeks, who is still recovering following a stroke, reunited, delivering a refreshing performance.

Dis Poem Word festival started in 2011 on the CASE campus at Passley Gardens in Portland. The agricultural element was added this year.
