High anticipation for Summer Escapades

contributed - Ria Grant

Promoter/artiste manager Ria Grant, CEO of Empress Promotions, is looking forward to the first staging of her event called Summer Escapades.

"This is the first time my company will be staging this event and I am really looking forward to it. Everyone involved with the project is working overtime to make sure Summer Escapades will be a success. We want it to be a very entertaining event."

Grant has high hopes for the event which will feature several artistes from her Empress Promotions camp, including Tarnado, Trapycal, Tyrical, and Dwayno.

"I believe that we will be able to attract a large audience, based on the feedback we've been getting. My promotions people have been pushing the event a lot and the response so far has been very good. I want this event to be a success, because I want it to become an annual event," she said.

Grant continued, "The idea for this event came about as a way to create exposure for the artistes signed to my company and other up-and-coming artistes in Jamaica. It's not easy to break new acts in the music biz, so, as an artiste manager, you have to be creative and innovative in order to achieve the success you desire."

Summer Escapades is the first of several events that Empress Promotions will stage in Jamaica.

"Once we execute this event successfully, I plan to stage other event in various parts of the island in order to expose my artistes to a wider audience."

Summer Escapades will take place on Saturday, June 14, at Comfitanya Restaurant and Lounge in Kingston.
