JaYouth wants to help the youths

Axx of Jahpostles recording artiste JaYouth is determined to become a household name in Jamaican music. The talented deejay won the JCDC Cultural Talent search in Port Antonio in 2009, and since then, he has not looked back.

"I've been deejaying from I was a little boy, but I never really took it serious until a friend of mine encouraged me to enter the JCDC contest. After I won the contest, I decided to take on the music seriously."

The soft-spoken Portland native recently released a brand-new single titled Help the Youths.

"This song is dedicated to all the youths out there who are hustling honestly just to make a living. Life is hard in the system, but we can't give up, we have to work and hope for a better day," said the artiste.

He added, "I hope one day I will be in a position to help the youths in the ghetto, that's one of my main reasons for doing music. I'm not seeking stardom, I just want to spread the message to uplift the youths and, if money comes out of the music, I will use it to help the youths. That's my mission."

Help the Youths was produced by Devon Bradshaw from Axx of Jahpostles studio in Portland.
