Powerful Women & Men Perform for Charity Show May 25

It will still be about song, dance and the spoken word, but with a number of new faces on stage at this year's Powerful Women & Men Perform for Charity Show, set for Sunday, May 25, at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College.

Another new feature of this year's staging will be the presentation of two shows at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. under the theme 'It's all about reaching out'.

Get ready to support the work of the Mustard Seed Communities and see the hidden talents of first-time performers such as: social-media sensation, Rashaine 'Dutty' Berry; Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin Former head of both the army and the Jamaica Constabulary Force; Bruce James, president and co-founder, MVP Track Club; Kelly Tomblin, CEO JPS; Paul Thorbourne, architect; Dahlia Harris, director of culture, Ministry of Youth and Culture; Joy Clark, regional manager, Digicel; and Mijanne Webster, violinist.

They will be joined by repeat performers: Lloyd B Smith, deputy leader of the Houses of Parliament and chairman of Western Mirror; Dr Michael Abrahams, gynaecologist; Carol Francis, programmes manager, PBCJ; as well as the Fantastic Four, comprising Michael Powell, DiMario McDowell, Emerson Henry and Maurice Henry, who earned a standing ovation and thunderous applause at last year's show.

Also returning to this year's show will be the National Geriatric Dance Troupe, NGDT, with whimsical presentation, as well as the energetic group, International Youth Fellowship, which had everyone dancing in their seats last year with their 'Gangnam Style' act.

This year's fashion show will have elegant wear by Angella's and Max Brown, with hats by Cinderella Hats.
