Dancin' Dynamites down to the wire
Shereita Grizzle, STAR Writer

Host Jenny Jenny will be encouraging the finalists to 'Bring It'!

The Karl Hendricks auditorium came alive as the penultimate show in the ninth staging of the Charles Chocolate Dancing Dynamite got under way last Saturday.

Fans could hardly contain their energy as the moment of truth fast approached. The final five Dynamites sent the audience back to the retro era, putting their 'funkiest' moves on display. The skills of the top crews were put to the test as they had to execute their routine incorporating a blindfold.

Crowd favourites

The dancers accepted the challenge, with some handling it better than others. Crowd favourites Cameron and Fearless Skankaz both put in good performances. Unfortunately, their best effort could not gain them the week's top score because that prize belonged to Classic Dancers.

The all-male dance crew put in a solid performance, showing why they copped the Burger King's Kings of the week spot for yet another show. Orville Hall and Kerry-Ann Henry could not stay in their seats, and by the end of the performance, were both making their way to the stage to award the dancers with maximum points. For their perfect score, Classic dancers earned themselves $15,000 courtesy of Charles Chocolate.

Extreme Pushers and Dustville Dancers were the night's other performers and both did well to earn themselves well-needed points.

The night saw performances from recording artistes Laden and RDX, but the highlight of the evening came from a surprise choreography from host and producer Jenny Jenny. The energetic hostess showed off her dancing skills with a pro-like performance which saw her incorporating modern dance moves including the popular 'One Drop'.

If last Saturday's show was anything to go by, then this Sunday's live finale is expected to be an energy-packed show. The show which is expected to start promptly at 6 p.m., will see performances from Voicemail, Stein, and Supa Hype, among others. Tickets for the final show will be on sale for $400 per adult and $200 per child.

This year's participants are competing for over $3 million in cash and prizes and the title of Dancing Dynamites 2014.
