61-y-o man hit by car succumbs to injuries

WESTERN BUREAU:

An elderly St James resident succumbed on Friday to injuries he had sustained following an accident in which he was mowed down by a motor car in Montego Bay two days earlier.

Dead is 61-year-old Rainford Levey, of a Bottom Pen Road address in Montego Bay.

Reports from the Constabulary Communications Unit are that on Wednesday, May 14, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Levey was walking along the road in Montego Bay, when he was hit by a Nissan Bluebird motor car.

Levey sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital. He was later transferred to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he died on Friday, May 16.
