This Friday, Labour Day, if you are a football fan, then Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, will be the place to be.

The usually busy Corporate Area thoroughfare will be remarkably transformed for the LIME Street Football Challenge Semi-finals & Finals.

The 'street football stadium field' will have teams from St Thomas, Kingston, Hanover and a 'wild card' team from Westmoreland, facing off for the semi-finals, with the qualifying two advancing to the final face-off. Action begins at 1 p.m.

"After nine weeks of exciting street style football and overwhelming support right across Jamaica, the first ever LIME Street Football Challenge will climax this Friday with the play-off for the national title. We are now gearing up to unveil a fantastic atmosphere where the best street football in Jamaica will be on show," said Carlo Redwood, Vice President of Marketing, LIME.

"It has been an intense competition throughout the rounds; we have seen high quality scrimmage being played and we are satisfied that the best teams have made it to the semi-finals. It's lining up to be a battle of the teams from the east versus those from the west and we wish each team success," he added.

Redwood further expressed gratitude to the over 300 teams and thousands of patrons who came out to support the initiative during the inaugural season.

In additional to the $1 million cash prize, the National Street Football champion will also take home an all-expense-paid trip to the Regional Guinness Street Football Challenge scheduled for Trinidad & Tobago in early June.

Former Reggae Boy come LIME Street Football Challenge ambassador, Ricardo 'Bibi' Gardener, will be coaching from the sidelines, giving the 4-a-side scrimmage teams pointers along the way.

Gardener will also be conducting training sessions with the champions ahead of their departure.

The entertainment segment for the finals will be hosted by LIME brand ambassador Pretty Boy Floyd, with top musical selections from ZJ Dymond and ZJ Smurf. Comedians and LIME Brand Ambassadors Ity and Fancy Cat will bring tons of laughter to the gathering, while the telecommunications company has confirmed special guest, Aidonia, who is set to deliver a vibrant performance for spectators.
