Four face court on praedial larceny charge
Jolyn Bryan, Star Writer

Twenty-four persons are to face the Morant Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on June 25 to answer charges stemming from the violation of the Praedial Larceny Prevention Act.

The St Thomas police, through the Anti-Praedial Larceny Patrol team, made the arrests during a weeklong operation in the Yallahs and Morant Bay area in the parish.

Twenty-two of the individuals, nine men and 13 women, were held for illegal possession of agricultural produce without a valid receipt. Two persons, both farmers, are to face the court to answer charges of issuing fraudulent agricultural receipts.

The St Thomas police say they continue to carry out frequent patrols of the main markets and agricultural areas in an effort to prevent praedial larceny in the parish
