Columbia Records signs Jamaican starlet

Recording artiste Samantha J, has inked a recording contract with internationally acclaimed record label Columbia Records.

Over the past 18 months, Samantha J has been making strides in the international marketplace with her singles Tight Skirt and Hot Gal Anthem. Both singles have accumulated thousands of views on YouTube, and have received a solid amount of airplay on radio stations in the United States.

Speaking on her international recording contract, Samantha J stated: "I cannot express how happy I am to be a part of the Columbia Records family. The label has a rich history of developing great artistes and music. As soon as I have my exams under my belt, I can't wait to get back to producing music and most of all making Jamaica proud. Thanks for all of the support everyone."

Colombia records has worked with artistes such as Beyoncé, Daft Punk, DMX, Alicia Keys, Nas, among others. News of Samantha J's contract was first announced on US gossip website TMZ.com. They also claim that Samantha J's deal is valued at over US$500,000.
