New York-based recording artiste Kapri is in Jamaica to promote his hit single 'My Shorty'. Since his last visit to Jamaica, he has been working tirelessly to establish himself as a mainstream act, and is more than ready to take on the rest of the year.

Born Dwayne Wallace, the fast-rising star earned his stripes with Dear Mama, produced by Seanizzle on the Gully Creeper rhythm.

Since then, Kapri has been climbing the ladder towards success. My Shorty has enjoyed frequent plays from top radio stations. The music video, shot overseas, has received highlights on local TV stations in Jamaica.

"I'm here to promote the single and video for My Shorty. I really wanted to see how the streets respond and, trust me, the streets love it. The feedback has been awesome!" the artiste, who is also promoting a single with Mr Easy called Pon Di Block, said.

Kapri will be working closely with long-time friend and top producer Seanizzle on a few projects while in Jamaica. So far he has voiced a song on one of Seanizzle's new rhythms called Happy Boulevard.

"Right now, I'm in the studio cooking up a storm with Seanizzle. Mi want the whole Jamaica and the whole world know that is only good work to come," he said.

The Dear Mama artiste has performed at various concerts and clubs right across America. He recently performed at a sold-out show in Philly alongside Junior Cat.
