Promoter allegedly sets man on fire

A man accused of setting another man on fire at a party was further remanded when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

The accused, party promoter Omari Riley, 20, of a Kingston address, is charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Riley is accused of setting the complainant who was a patron at his event afire while he was asleep on the premises. The complainant sustained several burns on sections of his skin as a result.

Riley was further remanded by the presiding judge, Resident Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece, and is to return to court on June 2 for trial.
