Police ends 'Happy' Birthday Bash

Just when things began to kick into higher gear, police came and put an end to Rupert 'Happy' Edwards' annual birthday bash, held recently at Mr Tire's Plaza, which is off Waltham Park Road, St Andrew.

Quality music by CD Fantasy and Bredda from Lover's Choice sound system proved to be sufficient for Edwards' rather loyal crowd support, which also had to brave inconsistent weather conditions.

However, popular businessman and promoter Edwards, who runs the Happy Wholesale on Nelson Road off Maxfield Avenue, St Andrew, said he was pleased with the turnout and those who had stayed on even after the rains began to drizzle.

"I have to thank the people who brave the rainfall because they could have left. It is just unfortunate that the event ended before time, but I will be keeping another one shortly," Edwards said.

Prior to its end, patrons were seen dancing up a storm as Bredda got the better of them with his song selections ranging from the 90s dancehall to present.

CD Fantasy's Rugsy performed briefly, but made enough of an impact before the unwanted aforementioned occurred.
