Party promotions under way for August holiday week

Davina Henry, Staff Reporter

With August just around the corner, promotions are already under way for the August1-6 holiday week. Though some fans were eager for the return of the Appleton Temptation Isle (ATI) party series, promoter Alex Chin has confirmed that, for the second year in a row, the party will not be held.

Last year, fans of the destination weekend series were shocked with the news that ATI had pulled out of the Negril party series line-up. There were other options, however, with the introduction of the RumFire Tropical Island (RTI) in Negril and Rum-Bar Flex week in Kingston. both were huge hits with patrons.

Simone Forbes, Operations Manger of Winners Entertainment, promoters of FrenchBook and Chug It on the Rum-Bar Vodka Flex Week, told THE STAR that the week-long series will be bigger and better this year.

"Last year was very successful and we expect the same for this year. Chug It was the biggest event over the Independence period last year and the 10 parties on the line-up will be equally, if not more successful than the last," she said.

Rum-Bar Vodka Flex Week's list of events include Image, Reminisce, Levels, Luminosity, Exquisite, Juice Theory and Chug It. As with the other Emancipation-Independence party series, Flex Week has also introduced a water party titled Wet Flex, slated for August 3 at Mas Camp. Flex Week will kick off with FrenchBook on August 1 and end with Chug It on August 6.
